HIRI develops research software, mobile data-collection apps, analysis pipelines, and digital health platforms in support of its projects and partners. Where licensing and ethics allow, these tools are released openly so that other researchers, programmes, and ministries can reuse and adapt them. Alongside them, HIRI toolkits package the practical outputs of our research — step-by-step guides, frameworks, and how-to resources — into formats that can be picked up and applied. Adopting a HIRI toolkit in your programme, or want to contribute a fix or feature?
HIRI's toolkits are designed to be picked up by planners, researchers, and implementers across Uganda and the region. Get in touch if you'd like support adapting one, or if you've built a resource we should host alongside ours. Each software repository carries its own contribution guide and licence — start there, and reach out if anything is unclear or if you are exploring a reuse in your own programme or research.
